National NAIDOC celebration

Friday 12th July 2024

Teaming up with Development WA, Karla Hart Productions delivered a Naidoc Week Celebration event at Yagan Square. The event featured headline show, Kaya by Phil Walleystack, Karla-K Koorliny fire-dance show partnered with ZAP Circus, a shadow puppet show by Rickeesha Walley and smoking ceremony by Derek Nannup. 

Reconciliation Week at Yagan Square

Friday 31st May, 2024

This activation took place in Yagan Square arcade at the base of the digital tower to celebrate Reconciliation Week. It featured over 15+ local Indigenous owned market stalls, set up in matching 3×3 marquees. To accompany the market stalls, the event also included back to back live musicians, a basket weaving workshop run by Sharyn Egan and cultural tours of the Yagan Square precinct run by Justin Martin.

This free event took place at Yagan Square and featured interstate travelling artist, Mo’Ju. The event was opened by Flewnt and Optamus with special guest Inkabee.

Native Threads

Monday 5th June 2023

Featuring 6+ local designers and 20+ models, this event showcases the best of WA First Nations fashion. Sponsored by Development WA and produced by Karla Hart Productions, this event was planned to be in the outdoor amphitheatre at Yagan Square, but due to sever weather on the event day, it was successfully relocated to The Perth Event and Conference Centre to be enjoyed by hundreds of guests. 

VIBRATIONS

Saturday 27th ay 2023

This event saw a large corroboree of the best dance groups in Boorloo and surrounds gather to perform at Yagan Square. Over 30 dancers all peformed prior to a special closing performance from violinist and composer Eric Avery.
